ADM welcomes back the Rugby Union County Championships
May 2022 sees the return of the ladies and gents senior and age group Rugby Union County Championships. The championships have been cancelled for the past two years due to the COVID19 pandemic. The Bill Beaumont Championships allow the men’s team playing at National One level and below, an opportunity to play at Twickenham on June 4th – if they overcome several qualifying group games. While the ladies’ Gill Burns County Championships also conclude at Twickenham on the same weekend.
Championships in doubt
Along with many other sporting competitions, the pandemic led to uncertainty, especially concerning the future of the county championships and if they would continue beyond 2022. The RFU are still reviewing the competition to see if the counties will continue to support the tournament. Dave Saunter, Cornwall Rugby Union’s chairman, hopes the championship will continue and is confident that the county will yet again “buy into it massively”.
ADM are eager to see the return of the County Championships. The Lancashire County RFU motto is “Strength in Union”. And the ADM team like to believe that supporting the Lancashire RFU for the past 15 years shows a union of strength. Our team supplies on-field rugby kit and off-field teamwear to both the men’s senior team and ladies teams. Furthermore, we also provide the Lancashire Royals, and the youth age groups for both the boys and girls kits for the under 16s to under 20s.
A proud moment for ADM
Danny Barker, director at ADM, is proud to announce that his son, Harry, recently represented Lancashire under 20s, receiving his first Lancashire tie. Unfortunately, Harry and the Lancashire County RFU lost the game 24 – 28 to the Cornwall under 20s at the Douglas Valley ground, the home of Wigan RUFC.
