On July 5th, organisers and relevant authorities will review the COVID restrictions and quarantine rules for players and staff travelling to the UK. The priority concern is for the Australian and New Zealand team members travelling back to Australia and New Zealand after the tournament.
The BBC recently reported that the Rugby League World Cup could be postponed for at least 12 months if the two teams cannot compete at the event.
warm-up games go-ahead
The English rugby team’s preparations for the Rugby League World Cup are going ahead, with England recently competing against the Combined Nations All-Stars in their first warm-up game. The All-Stars beat England by two points, winning 26-24.
Prior to the game with the All-Stars, the England women’s rugby league team took on the Wales women’s rugby league side with the England ladies rugby league team defeating the Wales ladies 60-0.
