The British Lions and Irish Lions’ first test against the Springboks takes place at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, July 24th. The announcement of the Lions test team has been eagerly awaited by rugby fans and the rugby union media. We know that Alun Wyn Jones will captain the side after making a remarkable recovery from a dislocated shoulder only 24 days ago.
In announcing the Lions squad, Warren Gatland stated, “In my four Tours as a Lions coach, this was by far the hardest Test selection I have been involved in.”

He has impressed in all the warm-up games. The British and Irish Lions starting 15 is comprised of six English, three Wales, three Irish and three Scots.
