Kick Off The New Premier League Season With A New Kit

The Premier League season has kicked-off

The new Premier League season has begun, with defending champions Manchester City in their new Puma white shirt. The Puma kit employs contrasting colours that pay homage to Manchester City and their creative previous football kits.

In addition, the inner neck also has a symbolic representation of the Manchester manufacturing skyline, inspired by the city’s industrial past. On Friday night, Manchester City defeated Burnley 3-0, a real baptism of fire for the newly promoted club.

ADM takes a look Saturday’s results

Saturday saw Arsenal defeat Nottingham Forest by a 2-1 score with two exquisite strikes from Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka. Nottingham Forest played in their new away shirt. The football kit has a one-of-a-kind design that combines a white foundation with light blue stripes. Taiwo Awoniyi’s injury-time goal gave Nottingham Forest hope but Arsenal had dominated for more than 80 minutes.

The two other promoted clubs began their respective campaigns on Saturday too. Sheffield United lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace, and Luton lost 4-1 at Brighton. It was Luton Town’s first match back in the Premier League in 31 years. The solid orange Umbro football shirt of Luton Town is a fan favourite, now resurrected for their premier league debut.

West Ham United drew 1-1 with Bournemouth under their third new manager in a year. Andoni Iraola is the ex-Rayo Vallecano manager, taking over from Gary O’Neil.

Everton started their season with a 1-0 defeat to Fulham, the Cottagers’ third win in a row at Goodison Park. Newcastle United won 5-1 at home to Aston Villa with their new Castore kit to kick off the 2023 Premier League season top of the league.

The new Castore shirts for both clubs reflect their illustrious history while also paying homage to the clubs’ strong ties with their fans. Newcastle United’s excellent performance in the late Saturday kick-off was an early statement in the season.

Sunday and Mondays games reviewed

Sunday’s games kicked off with Tottenham starting their season without England captain Harry Kane. It finished in an exciting 2-2 draw against Brentford FC. The later game saw Chelsea, under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, host Liverpool FC. Liverpool played in their iconic basic red shirt with a broad white round neck that honours the great Bill Shankly’s final season as Liverpool manager 50 years ago. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, both teams having ample chances, but neither could get the winner.

Monday night football saw Manchester United’s Raphael Varane score the only goal 14 minutes from the end as Manchester United won 1-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves wore their new Castore kit, with the geometric architecture and tile designs thought to be influenced by the Iberian Peninsula.
